WE ARE HIRING!

First and foremost, let me give you a little introduction to the world we’re building here at Cherished Tattoo.

The goal of Cherished is to bring together the best parts of a custom tattoo shop and a traditional walk-in/flash shop, while creating an environment that feels warm, welcoming, and genuinely different.

“Enter as a stranger, leave as a friend.”

We’re a busy walk-in and appointment-based shop located on Cherokee Street in St. Louis, right in the heart of an arts district with great foot traffic and street festivals, markets, events, restaurants, bars, and small businesses surrounding us throughout the year.

A LITTLE ABOUT THE SHOP

As the owner, I’ve worked in the tattoo industry for over 20 years, from premier high-volume walk-in shops to custom, appointment-only studios.

Over those years, I’ve had the opportunity to work across the country, learn from some incredible tattooers, and collect a lot of knowledge, experience, and different perspectives on what makes a tattoo shop thrive—and what can make working in one miserable.

Cherished is the culmination of all of that.

I don’t want Cherished to simply be a place where artists rent a station and come to work. I want it to feel like home.

I want to work hand-in-hand with my crew to help each artist continue growing, become the best tattooer they can be, build a clientele, make a good living, and create work that both they and their clients are genuinely proud of.

You’re not just filling a station here. You’re becoming part of a crew that wants to see each other succeed.

THE ENVIRONMENT

After more than two decades working in tattoo shops, I’ve also seen the uglier side of this industry—the egos, bullying, gatekeeping, seniority complexes, discrimination, and unnecessary competition.

That shit doesn’t live here.

Cherished Tattoo is my sanctuary, and I want it to be yours, too.

We have zero tolerance for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, body shaming, bullying, or hate of any kind.

There is no hierarchy based on how long you’ve been tattooing, how many followers you have, how booked you are, or who you know.

Come in ready to tattoo, keep learning, contribute to the shop, treat people well, and support the artists working beside you.

WHAT WE OFFER

We offer one of the most competitive percentage splits in the city, as well as a booth rental option for artists who prefer to work more independently. We understand that not every tattooer works the same way, and we want to find an arrangement that makes sense for both you and the shop.

Cherished supplies artists with:

  • All disposables

  • Protective barriers

  • Gloves

  • A clean and professional workspace

  • Walk-in traffic

  • Shop promotion

  • Community events and opportunities

  • The freedom to maintain and continue building your own clientele

Our regular shop hours are Friday through Monday, 10AM–6PM, with the option to take appointments on Thursdays.

Whether you thrive on walk-ins, work primarily by appointment, or enjoy a combination of both, we want artists to have room to develop a schedule and workflow that works for them.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for experienced tattooers who are passionate about what they do, dependable, kind, motivated to keep growing, and excited about being part of a shop rather than simply occupying a booth.

You don’t have to tattoo exactly like us. You don’t have to fit into some tattoo-shop mold. You don’t have to have the biggest following or the fullest appointment book.

Be good to your clients. Be good to your coworkers. Give a shit about your craft. Leave the ego at the door.

If you’ve been looking for a tattoo shop where you can work hard, make great tattoos, continue growing, make a living, laugh a lot, and actually feel comfortable being yourself—we’d love to hear from you.
